Silicone fluids play an important role as an electrical
insulating materials (dielectrics), such as transformers. Similarly, silicone
fluids are used as diffusion pump oils, heating fluids and damping means.
In medicine and cosmetics silicone fluids are used as ingredients in cosmetics,
skin cream, ointment bases, in a hair-stabilization, as a fixative for perfumes
and the like.
Other uses are massage oils and lubricants, and treatment products for latex
condoms and latex clothing.
